Let’s learn more about it below.

1. Botrytis cinerea

It mainly harms grape inflorescences, young fruits and fruits in the color change and pulping period, and can also harm branches and leaves.

Prevention and control methods : 10 days before flowering to 1-2 days before the start of flowering is the critical period for chemical control. Methyl thiophanate, isoprodinil and other pesticides can be used for prevention and control.

2. Downy Mildew

Early disease occurrence can cause new shoots and flower spikes to die; mid- to late-stage disease occurrence can cause leaf fall or large areas of dead spots.

Prevention and control methods: After clearing the garden, spray 3-5 degrees Baume lime sulfur mixture on the plants and nearby ground once. Start spraying 600 times diluted 58% Ridomil manganese zinc wettable powder or 750 times diluted 72% Kelu wettable powder in mid-to-late June, spray once every 10-15 days, and spray 4-5 times in a row.

3. Powdery mildew

It mainly harms the leaves, fruits, vines, etc. of grapes. Especially if the disease is severe in the later stages, it can cause the fruit to crack.

Prevention and control methods: Spray lime sulfur mixture or 800-1000 times diluted 70% methyl thiophanate wettable powder once before grapes sprout. Before flowering to the young fruit stage, spray 2-3 times with 800-1000 times diluted 70% methyl tolbutamide wettable powder or 1500 times diluted 20% triadimefon emulsifiable concentrate.

4. Brown spot disease

It only harms leaves, and the disease usually starts from the lower leaves and gradually spreads upwards.

Prevention and control methods: Apply mancozeb and fenpropimorph, spray once every 10-15 days, and spray 2-3 times in a row. When you start spraying, pay attention to the lower leaves of the plant and spray both sides.

5. Anthrax

Grape anthracnose, also known as late rot, is the main disease that causes fruit rot.

Prevention and control methods: Spray 40% Thiram 100 times diluted or 5 degrees Baume lime sulfur mixture before grape budding. After flowering is the critical period for prevention and control. Spray once every 15 days during the fruit growing period, for a total of 3-4 times. Commonly used drugs include Penke, Kobo 600 times diluted, 50% Tuijunte, etc.

6. Black pox

During the grape sprouting and leaf expansion period, the main damage is to the leaves; during the grape flowering and young fruit growth period, the main damage is to the young and tender tissues and fruits.

Prevention and control methods: Before flowering and after flowers fall are the most critical periods for preventing and controlling black pox disease. Generally, systemic agents can be applied, such as 20% fenpropimorph, 40% flusilazole, 80% tebuconazole, 70% methyl thiophanate, 50% carbendazim, etc.

In general, grapes may be attacked by a variety of diseases during their growth, which can significantly affect the yield and quality of grapes. Therefore, its prevention and control work must be taken seriously.
