How to fertilize mulberry trees

Spring fertilizer for mulberry trees

Also called germination fertilizer. Generally, quick-acting fertilizers are applied before mulberry trees sprout. The amount of spring fertilizer applied accounts for about 25%-30% of the annual fertilizer application. Spring fertilizer can be divided into two times. The first fertilization is carried out in late March, with about 1000-1500 kg of manure and urine and about 2 kg of urea applied per mu. The first amount is generally about 70% of the total spring fertilizer. The second fertilization is carried out in late April, with about 10 kg of urea applied per mu.

Summer fertilizer for mulberry trees

The time for fertilization is from the summer felling of mulberry trees to the early autumn before silkworm rearing, and it is generally divided into two fertilizations. The first fertilization is carried out immediately after summer felling. It is suitable to choose organic fertilizers such as manure and compost and apply them together with chemical fertilizers. About 1055 kg of manure, 30 kg of urea and about 15 kg of phosphate fertilizer are applied per mu. The second fertilization is carried out after thinning the buds. At this time, quick-acting fertilizers are mainly used, and about 15 kg of urea is applied per mu. The amount of summer fertilizer applied is approximately 40%-50% of the annual amount.

Autumn fertilizer for mulberry trees

The time for fertilization is after the mulberry leaves are harvested in autumn. Autumn fertilizer should not be applied too late, and should not be applied later than the end of August at the latest, otherwise the branches and shoots will delay production and will be difficult to suffer from frost damage. The main fertilizer to choose is quick-acting fertilizer. Under normal circumstances, 15 kg of urea is suitable per mu. The amount of fertilizer applied in autumn should generally account for about 10%-20% of the annual fertilizer application.

Winter fertilizer for mulberry trees

Fertilization should be carried out before the soil freezes in winter. The amount of winter fertilizer applied generally accounts for about 20% of the annual fertilizer application. It is appropriate to choose organic fertilizer, such as manure, compost, river and pond mud, etc., which can be turned in during winter plowing.
