1. Origin

There are many places where Sichuan pepper is produced. Its main production areas are Shanxi, Hebei, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Sichuan and other regions in my country. Among them, the Sichuan pepper grown in Sichuan is of relatively high quality, and the yield of pepper grown in Hebei and Shanxi is relatively high. Its distribution range is also very wide. It is grown in the southern part of Northeast my country, the northern slope of the Wuling Mountains, the southeastern part of Tibet, and even in Qinghai.

2. Morphological characteristics

The Sichuan pepper tree can usually grow to about 3-7 meters, and there will be some small short thorns on the branches on the stem. The leaflets are opposite, ovate or elliptical, about 2-7cm long, and have tiny teeth on the edges of the leaves. There are about 6-8 tepals, which are yellow-green in color and have similar shapes and sizes. The fruit is purple-red and usually bears fruit between August and October.

3. Growth habits

Sichuan pepper is suitable for growing in a relatively warm and humid environment. It has good cold and drought resistance. It likes sunlight very much, and more sunlight is also good for its growth. Moreover, it has good resistance to pruning and is very resistant to pruning. However, it is very afraid of waterlogging and cannot be kept in water for a long time.
