When to plant potatoes and how to germinate them

When to plant potatoes and how to germinate them

1. When to plant potatoes

Potatoes are also called potatoes, and the time for planting these plants varies in different regions. In the Northeast region, planting is done between April and May after entering spring; in Shandong Province and its neighboring provinces, planting is mostly done between February and March; in the southern region, where the temperature is higher, this type of plant is planted between January and February.

2. Germination Method

1. Time: Start preparing for germination about ten days before the selected time for planting potatoes. Do not do it too early, so as to avoid the buds growing too long and affecting the subsequent growth of the plants.

2. Method: After the wound of the plant's rhizome has healed, place the plant's rhizome in a corner of the room, sprinkle some water on the ground, place a layer of the plant's rhizome in the selected place, and then sprinkle some moist sand on it. The sand needs to be sterilized in advance, then place a layer of the plant's rhizome on this layer of sand, and then sand. After repeating this operation 3-4 times, cover it with the prepared moist straw mat.

3. Germination: If the operation is correct, small buds will grow on the tubers in about 4-5 days. At this time, check and see if there are rotten tubers and throw them away in time. You can plant them after 10 days.
