How to pot the newly bought Clivia

1. Prepare the soil

To grow Clivia, you need to use a slightly acidic flower soil that has good drainage, good air permeability and contains a certain amount of humus. Therefore, it is recommended to prepare two parts of fine coconut bran, two parts of coarse coconut shells, one part of cinders and one part of peat soil, mix them together to make its flower soil. In addition, you also need to prepare a flowerpot with good air permeability for it. You can use a clay pot or a ceramic pot.

2. Pruning

After preparing the new potting soil, take the plant out of the original pot and shake it gently to shake off the soil at the bottom. Then move it to a brighter spot and cut off any old and rotten roots. Then, put it in disinfectant and soak it for about 20 minutes to kill the bacteria attached to it.

3. Potting

Place a layer of broken tiles at the bottom of the flower pot, and then spread a thin layer of flower soil. Then gently place the plant in the center of the pot, support it with one hand, and fill the remaining space in the pot with soil with the other hand. After all its roots are submerged in the pot, compact the surface soil with your hands and water it thoroughly. After that, put it in a warm, semi-shaded place and wait for it to adapt to the new pot.
