Cultivation methods and precautions of tuberose

Cultivation methods and precautions of tuberose

1. Soil

Tuberose has high requirements for it. First of all, it requires sufficient nutrition, and secondly, clay soil is more suitable for it. If sandy soil is chosen, it will be detrimental to its growth. Specifically, you can mix peat soil, leaf mold and river sand in a ratio of three to two to one, and mix in some farmyard manure. In addition, the plant needs to be repotted every spring, which is around April, and the roots should be repaired at the same time.

2. Temperature

The most suitable temperature for tuberose is 20 to 30 degrees. It needs to be protected from the cold in winter and placed indoors or in a greenhouse. The temperature should be between eight and twelve degrees. If it is below five degrees, it will suffer frost damage, and if it is lower, it may even be frozen to death.

3. Lighting

When it grows faster, it needs to be provided with good light and placed in a place with sufficient diffuse light. In winter, it is usually kept indoors, and the light should not be too dark, otherwise it will affect its wintering and its growth in the second year.

4. Fertilization

Tuberose's demand for fertilizer is relatively low. Fertilize once a month after planting and once before flowering. After that, it needs to be applied regularly, usually once every two months.

5. Watering

Tuberose has a high demand for water, and it is very important to ensure sufficient water during the growth period, otherwise its leaves may dry up. In summer, you need to water it almost every day to meet the needs. But be careful not to allow water to accumulate.
