Cultivation methods and precautions of Daphne koreana

Cultivation methods and precautions of Daphne koreana

1. Adequate light

When caring for Daphne koreana, be sure to ensure sufficient light, but avoid direct strong light. Different seasons have different requirements for light. In spring, late autumn and winter, it can be placed in a sunny place. In summer, pay attention to shade to avoid burns from strong sunlight.

2. Soil requirements

When caring for Daphne koreana, it should be grown in loose, fertile, well-drained acidic soil, which can provide a suitable growth environment for the root system and facilitate growth. When preparing the soil, you can mix garden soil, peat soil, and leaf mold in a ratio of 1:1:1, and add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer.

3. Water and fertilizer management

The roots of Daphne odora are fleshy and cannot tolerate waterlogging. During normal maintenance, pay attention to controlling watering, keeping the soil dry and moist, and avoid excessive moisture in the soil that causes waterlogging and root rot. After it rains, pour out the accumulated water in the basin in time. Daphne koreana likes fertilizer very much. Apply sufficient base fertilizer in early spring when repotting. In the growing season in spring, apply liquid fertilizer every 10 days. Spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate on the leaves after the flower buds are formed.

IV. Precautions

During the maintenance period of Daphne odora, the potting soil should be replaced every 1-2 years so that the new soil can provide Daphne odora with sufficient water and nutrients in time. It is also necessary to pay attention to regular pruning, maintain ventilation, and prevent and control diseases and pests.
