How to grow succulent red lotus

1. Suitable soil

The choice of soil is the basis of breeding. Generally, soil with a relatively loose texture and good water retention properties should be used. You can mix peat soil with half granular soil and add an appropriate amount of bone meal.

2. Provide light

It likes the sun very much. The light intensity in spring, autumn and winter is not very strong. It can be exposed to full sunlight in these three seasons, but it is afraid of exposure to the scorching sun in summer and needs appropriate shade. This condition is very important. If it is not met, the color of the leaves will become lighter, the leaves will be elongated, and the shape will not be so beautiful.

3. Watering in moderation

It tolerates drought well, so don't water it too much. During the growing season, water the potting soil thoroughly when it is completely dry to keep it moist. When the surrounding air is dry, you can spray water around to avoid water accumulation. Starting from the end of autumn, watering is gradually stopped, and basically no watering is done throughout the winter.

4. Apply fertilizer appropriately

It likes fertilizer very much and needs nutrient supply to maintain growth. During the growing season, it is generally applied once every 20 days, and it needs to be suspended during the dormant period. Excessive application will make the roots unable to absorb.

5. Temperature control

The optimal temperature is 15-5 degrees, and it cannot be lower than 5 degrees in winter.
