Will the fortune tree die if the soil is changed? How to revive it if it dies?

1. Will I die?

Generally, the Money Tree will not die if the soil is changed, but if it is not done properly or its root system is damaged, it may die. Please note that if all the old soil is cleared away when changing the soil, it will be difficult for the plant to adapt to the new environment and it will easily die. Try to remove some of the old soil, and keep some of the original soil around the roots of the plant, so that it will recover faster after changing the soil.

2. Rescue Methods

1. Shave: Use a sterilized blade to remove all the branches and leaves on the plant, leaving the buds. After sterilization, place it in a place without strong light, spray water appropriately to keep it slightly moist, and wait for it to recover slowly. If there are rotten parts of the root system, they need to be cut off and disinfected in time.

2. Root pruning: If it is caused by root rot, you need to remove it from the potting soil and clean up the old soil. Check the rotten roots. If all of them are rotten, cut off the roots. After disinfecting, dry them and replant them to let them grow new roots. Do not place it under direct sunlight during the rooting period, and do not water it too much. Place it in semi-shade and keep the soil slightly moist.
