When does Calla Lily bloom?

When does Calla Lily bloom?

1. Flowering period

It starts blooming in November and lasts until June of the following year. If you can ensure that the winter is not too cold and the summer is not too hot, it can bloom all year round. In spring, if you want it to keep blooming, you need to ensure at least 5 hours of sunlight a day.

2. Maintenance during flowering period

1. Light: Calla lily cannot tolerate strong light and becomes more delicate after flowering. When providing light, avoid direct sunlight. It blooms most vigorously around the Spring Festival, when the daylight hours should be slightly longer, but the light should not be too strong. You can put it in a brighter place such as a balcony to receive some sunlight. In May and June, the sun is very strong, so you should provide shade for it to prevent it from getting sunburned. In winter, it should be placed in a place with good light, so as to meet the flower's need for sunlight and allow it to bloom continuously.

2. Water: It has a relatively high demand for water during the flowering period, and it is necessary to ensure sufficient water so that it can metabolize normally. Therefore, water it more often at this time. Under the premise that there is no water accumulation in the flower soil, water it more appropriately. But in winter, water should be controlled appropriately to prevent it from freezing.

3. Temperature: When it is hot, place it in a place with breeze and sprinkle water on the ground twice a day to help cool it down, so as to avoid problems such as yellowing leaves and wilting flowers. After November, it is necessary to increase the warmth appropriately, and it is best to maintain the temperature at around 20℃. This will help it bloom more easily.
