How to propagate lily of the valley

How to propagate lily of the valley

1. Division method

This method is relatively common and can be performed in spring or autumn, with the most suitable time being around October. Generally, it is done by dividing the rhizomes. Lily of the valley has underground creeping rhizomes. When breeding, dig out its underground rhizome and cut it into several small sections with a knife. Make sure there are 2-3 buds on each small section, and then plant them separately.

2. Seeding method

If you use the sowing method, you have to wait until the plants bear fruit in the fall and then harvest the seeds from the fruit, or buy seeds. The seeds used must meet the requirements of being mature, strong and thick, because seeds that are too small and too shriveled will have difficulty germinating.

Soak the seeds in warm water for about two or three days. The water used should not be too cold or too hot, otherwise the sprouts in the seeds will be destroyed. After processing the seeds, sow them in the soil, keep it slightly moist, properly block the sunlight, and wait for the seeds to germinate.
