The difference between narrow-leaved dracaena and sword-leaved dracaena

The difference between narrow-leaved dracaena and sword-leaved dracaena

1. Difference of blades

The leaves of the narrow-leaved Dracaena are concentrated at the top of the stem, lanceolate in shape, about 20-40 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, with entire edges, gradually pointed apex, base clasping the stem, and the midrib prominently raised on the back of the leaf.

The leaves of the sword-leaf Dracaena are clustered at the top of the stem, branches or twigs. They are thin leathery, sword-shaped, and wider than the former.

2. The difference between flowers

The narrow-leaved Dracaena has a panicle inflorescence that can reach about 60 cm in length. The flowers are white and small.

The inflorescence of the sword-leaved Dracaena is also a panicle, about 40 cm long. The flowers are milky white, with flat filaments and reddish-brown warts on the upper part.
