The difference between asparagus fern and lucky bamboo

1. Difference in appearance

The height of asparagus fern is about 3-6 meters, which is quite tall. Its roots are slightly fleshy, and its stems are soft, tufted, slender, heavily branched, and nearly smooth. Compared with the former, lucky bamboo is shorter, about 2 meters. It is a foliage plant, more upright, with branches on the upper part and a thicker stem.

2. Difference of blades

The leaves of asparagus fern are scaly with thorns at the base. The leaf-like branches are usually clustered in 10-13 pieces, are bristle-like and have three edges. The leaves of lucky bamboo are lanceolate, just like bamboo. There are 3-7 obvious main veins, which are dark green in color with yellow or white edges. They are about 13-23 cm long and 1.8-3.2 cm wide. There are obvious differences between the two in the leaves.

3. The difference between flowers

Asparagus fern flowers are usually 1-3 in each axil and are white in color. Lucky bamboo has 3 to 10 flowers that grow in the leaf axils or opposite the upper leaves, and are purple in color.
