Although the color of the pear blossom is white like the former, the color of the stamen is pink, which is a clear difference. Its flowers are larger and open at the same time as the leaves. The petals are nearly round or broadly oval and relatively full.

The flowering period of plum blossoms varies depending on the region and variety. Generally, it is March in the south and April to May from the Qinling Mountains to the north of the Huaihe River. The pear blossom season is generally from late March to early April.
