The difference between Camellia and Tea Tree

The difference between Camellia and Tea Tree

1. Difference of blades

Camellia leaves are leathery, oval in shape, about 5-10 cm long and 2.5-5 cm wide. They are dark green on the upper side, which becomes shiny after drying, and light green on the lower side, with no hair on both sides. There are 7-8 pairs of lateral veins, visible on both sides, with fine serrations on the edges.

The leaves of the tea tree are oblong in shape and similar in size to the former. Shiny on the upper side, with soft hairs on the lower side at the beginning, and fewer lateral veins than the former, with 5-7 pairs.

2. The difference between flowers

The color of camellia is red, with 6-7 petals, the two outer ones are nearly circular, and the five inner ones are obovate. Its flowering period is relatively long, generally from October to May of the following year.

The tea tree flower is white in color, has 5-6 petals, and is broadly oval in shape. Its flowering period is shorter than the former, from October to February of the following year.
