1. Differences in plants

The cat's eye grass plant is relatively short, about 30 to 60 cm in length, relatively slender, about 3 to 6 mm in diameter, and brown or dark brown in color.

The cat's ear grass plant is relatively tall, with a height of about 0.5 to 1.5 meters. It has roots underneath the stem and is covered with small soft hairs.

2. The difference of leaves

The shape of cat's eye grass leaves is quite varied, ranging from linear to oval, with a length of about 2 to 7 cm and a width of about 4 to 7 mm.

The leaves of cat's ear grass are oval or elliptical-ovate in shape, about 1.5 to 5 cm long and 1 to 4 cm wide, with small hairs on both sides of the leaves.

3. Differences in seeds

The seeds of cat's eye grass are ovoid in shape, about 2.5 to 3.0 mm in length, and the fruiting period is around September to October.

There are usually four seeds of cat's ear grass, which are flat spherical in shape, and the fruiting period is around July to November.
