The difference between coral beans and four-season fruits

The difference between coral beans and four-season fruits

1. Difference in plant height

Coral bean is a small shrub with upright branches, the plant is about 30-150 cm tall. Compared with the former, the four-season fruit has more branches, grows in clusters, and is much shorter. The plant is usually 40 cm tall and can grow up to 60 cm.

2. Difference of blades

The leaves of coral bean are twin, oval-lanceolate and of varying sizes. The leaves of the four-season fruit are alternate, oblong to oblanceolate.

3. Fruit Difference

Coral beans are solitary berries that are spherical in shape, coral red or orange in color, about 1-2 cm in diameter, with relatively flat seeds about 3 mm in diameter. The fruiting period is from August to December. The berries of the four-season fruit are spherical and dark orange-red when ripe. They are slightly smaller than the former, with a diameter of about 1-1.5 cm. The fruits do not fall off for a long time and can be retained until after spring. The seeds are small, similar to chili pepper seeds.
