When does the hosta flower bloom?

When does the hosta flower bloom?

1. Flowering period

Hosta is a perennial flower of the Liliaceae family. Its flowering period is between early summer and midsummer, and in China the most concentrated time is from June to August. Its flowering period may vary slightly depending on the region and variety.

Generally speaking, purple hostas begin to bloom in early to mid-June, while white hostas bloom relatively later, usually from July to August. So in China, we can see different varieties of hosta blooming in different regions from June to September.

2. Maintenance during flowering period

1. Humidity: Control the amount of watering during the flowering period. Regular watering is not necessary. The amount of watering should not be too large, as water accumulation will cause root rot.

2. Fertilization: Hosta will consume a lot of nutrients during the flowering period. Sufficient fertilizer should be applied before flowering and also once during the flowering period. Please note that it can be better absorbed after dilution.
