The difference between Prunus mume and Prunus mume

1. Differences in the trunk:

Prunus armeniaca is a deciduous shrub that sheds its leaves naturally in autumn. The trunk is not high and belongs to the subgenus of dwarf Prunus armeniaca. It is generally 0.5-1.5 meters tall and can reach a maximum of two meters.

The trunk height of Prunus armeniaca is slightly higher than the former. The trunk is not very thick and branches start from the bottom.

2. Differences in flowers:

The flowers of the plum tree are solitary or clustered in pairs. The pedicels are relatively short, about 6 to 8 cm long. The base of the calyx is bell-shaped, and the flowers and leaves open at about the same time.

The flowers of Prunus armeniaca grow in clusters, with long pedicels about 5 to 10 cm long, and the base of the calyx is shaped like a top.

3. Differences on the leaves:

The leaves of the Prunus mume are oblong or elliptical-lanceolate in shape, relatively small, 2.5 to 6 cm long, with fine, blunt, and heavy serrations on the edges.

The leaves of Prunus mume vary in shape, being roughly oval in shape and relatively large, about 3 to 7 centimeters long.
