Cultivation method of potted crabapple

Cultivation method of potted crabapple

1. Choose a pot

It is recommended that you choose a purple clay pot for potted crabapples. This type of pot not only has excellent air permeability and drainage capabilities, which is suitable for the growth of the plant, but also has a very beautiful appearance, and when paired with the beautiful crabapples, it has a great ornamental effect.

2. Soil selection

It is recommended to choose soil that is slightly acidic, breathable and rich in nutrients. Specifically, you can use a mixture of garden soil and leaf mold.

3. Watering

Because it likes moist growing conditions, it must not be allowed to lack water when growing, and it must be watered before the soil dries out completely. However, in winter, its growth rate is not fast and its water demand is not high, so just keep the soil slightly dry.

4. Fertilization

It has certain requirements for fertilizer. It needs to be fertilized once every 10 days during the growth period, and accelerated phosphorus fertilizer should be applied during the bud formation period to help it bloom better. However, it is best not to fertilize it during the flowering period.

5. Lighting

When growing it, just place it in a sunny place. However, in summer, you should avoid exposing it to direct sunlight at noon, otherwise it may cause yellow leaves.

6. Temperature

Its optimal growth temperature is 10-20℃. In winter, take measures to maintain the temperature above 10℃, otherwise it may be frostbitten and suffer poor growth.
