The difference between Guanyin bamboo and lucky bamboo

The difference between Guanyin bamboo and lucky bamboo

1. Appearance

(1) Height: Generally speaking, the height of Guanyin bamboo ranges from one to three meters. However, the height of lucky bamboo generally does not exceed two meters. Few reach two meters, because it is a small tree and its height will not be too high. Therefore, in general, the height of Guanyin bamboo is slightly higher than that of lucky bamboo.

(2) Leaves: The leaves of the first plant are lanceolate in shape, with a length of approximately 3.5 to 6.5 cm and a width of approximately 0.4 to 0.7 cm. Although the leaves of the second plant are also roughly lanceolate in shape, they are generally longer and smaller in width. That is, the leaves of lucky bamboo are more slender.

(3) Fruit: The former will produce new shoots, which may last up to three to six months. The latter produces a berry that is spherical and black in color.

2. Habits

The first type of plant likes warmth, while the second type prefers high temperatures, and its temperature requirements are higher. Moreover, their wintering temperatures are also different. The first type requires above four degrees, while the second type requires above ten degrees. In comparison, lucky bamboo has more stringent requirements.

3. Meaning

The meaning of lucky bamboo is even better, as can be seen from its name. It represents good luck, good fortune, etc., and can also attract wealth, etc. However, Guanyin bamboo does not have this effect.
