Cultivation methods and precautions of dragon beard tree

Cultivation methods and precautions of dragon beard tree

1. Soil

It prefers loose, fertile soil with good drainage and ventilation. It can be made by mixing garden soil, leaf mold, decomposed organic fertilizer, and river sand in a ratio of five to three to one to one.

2. Humidity

It likes moisture. Normally, it is necessary to use overhead watering to ensure that the soil is in a suitably moist state. As long as it's not too dry, it won't have much of an impact.

3. Temperature

The most suitable range for its growth is twenty to twenty-eight degrees. If the temperature is below 15 degrees or above 32 degrees, the plant will go dormant. In order to make the plants grow stronger, it is best not to exceed the limit.

4. Lighting

It also likes light, but not too strong. The light is too strong in summer, so you can provide appropriate shade or adjust its position. In other seasons, diffuse light with an illumination of about 40 to 50 percent is sufficient.

5. Fertilizer

Relatively speaking, it does not require much fertilizer. Just use it when the growth is vigorous, generally two or three times a month, and choose compound fertilizer.

6. Notes

In addition to the above-mentioned factors that need to be regulated in the environment, there are also pruning and repotting that need attention. As for pruning, you only need to cut off the yellow and aging leaves and make slight adjustments based on the overall ornamental effect. Regarding repotting, repot once every April, prepare new soil (requirements remain unchanged), and add some base fertilizer to meet subsequent growth needs.
