Cultivation methods and precautions of iron tree

Cultivation methods and precautions of iron tree

1. Soil

Specific requirements: First of all, the drainage should be good, the iron tree should avoid moisture. The second is that it is loose and contains a lot of nutrients. Third, the plant itself prefers slightly acidic sandy soil.

2. Lighting

The cycads are particularly fond of light, so they should be placed in a place with sufficient light in every season. Without sunlight, its leaves will become sparse, lose their green color, and the whole plant will become thin and weak. Especially in spring and autumn, when new leaves grow, it is important to ensure light.

3. Temperature

It likes warmth. However, it is too high, so it needs to be cooled by spraying water in summer. It cannot be too low either. The temperature needs to be above ten degrees in winter to survive the winter safely.

4. Moisture

Generally speaking, it likes dryness and is afraid of waterlogging. You can observe that the soil is dry before watering. The frequency of watering varies in different seasons. In spring and autumn, watering is generally done once every three to five days; in summer when the temperature is high, watering should be done more often, once in the morning and once in the evening; in winter, watering is done at the least, about once every ten days. The general principle is to "see dry and see wet", and avoid water accumulation.

5. Fertilization

Mainly nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, such as decomposed cake fertilizer water. However, do not make the fertilizer too concentrated. In addition, in order to make the leaves become dark green, ferrous sulfate can be added to the fertilizer.

6. Notes

Need to pay attention to pruning. Every once in a while, you can cut off the old leaves and the yellow leaves. If the leaves are too dense, decide whether to cut them off altogether depending on the situation.
