Cultivation methods and precautions of Begonia

Cultivation methods and precautions of Begonia

1. Soil

Begonia prefers alkaline soil, and the pH should not be lower than 7. In addition, the soil must be loose and have sufficient nutrient content. You can mix some river sand into the leaf mold to make its culture soil.

2. Lighting

Begonias prefer light and are not shade-tolerant, so they need to be placed in a place with sufficient light. Except for the summer when the light is too strong and shade is needed, sufficient light is needed at other times.

3. Water

When watering the crabapple, you should water it when the soil is dry and wet. That is, there is no need to water it when the soil in the pot is not completely dry. Wait until it is completely dry and then water it. When watering, water it thoroughly until water flows out of the bottom holes. In addition, it is best not to water on rainy days, and drain the accumulated water in the pot in time.

4. Fertilization

In early spring, you should apply some organic fertilizer to the crabapple to provide it with nutrients; in autumn, apply organic fertilizer, and after the flowers fade, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers; stop fertilizing in winter when the weather turns cold. You can choose some fertilizers specifically for crabapples.

5. Notes

1. Drain water in time. After watering thoroughly, the accumulated water must be drained out in time, otherwise the roots of the crabapple flowers will rot. You can drain the accumulated water by raising the flower pot or placing it in a ventilated place.

2. Pay attention to ventilation. When growing crabapples, you must pay attention to timely ventilation and do not keep them in an overly closed environment, otherwise it will be difficult for them to grow normally.
