The difference between Chunlan and Huilan

The difference between Chunlan and Huilan

Petiole ring

The petiole ring is the point that distinguishes the two, and it is a very obvious difference. In fact, Chunlan has this thing, but Huilan has none of it.

Number of leaves

The number of leaves is also very different. The leaves of the former are very rough, wide and long. The latter is smoother, narrower and shorter than the former. The number of leaves of Chunlan is only about four or five, while the number of leaves of Huilan is more, with a minimum of seven and a maximum of fifteen.

vein

The leaf veins of Huilan are actually very distinctive. If we hold it up to the light and look at the flower, we can see that it has very dense veins, which are transparent, with about seven to nine in number. The back of Huilan's leaves has raised ridges, and these ridges become translucent if facing the light.

flower

There are relatively few flowers of spring orchid, usually only one on a sword, and sometimes there will be two. The number of Huilan is much larger. Generally, there are many flowers on one sword, probably between six and twelve. Generally speaking, this is the orchid with the largest number of flowers, of course, in China, but not all flowers, and its flower stems are relatively thick.

The flowering time of the former is generally in February and March, while that of the latter is from March to May. All in all, there are still many differences between them, so if you want to distinguish them carefully, it is still possible.
