What soil should be used to grow Daphne koreana

What soil should be used to grow Daphne koreana

1. Specific requirements

(1) The first requirement is of course that it is rich in nutrients. After all, the plant mainly absorbs nutrients from the soil, especially when it is growing very fast and when it is blooming, so this point must be paid special attention to.

(2) The second requirement is loose soil, which is a requirement for most plants.

(3) Then we need to consider the habits of this plant. It prefers slightly acidic soil, so we also need to consider the acidity and alkalinity of the soil. Of course, it is not good if it is too alkaline.

(4) In addition, there are requirements for the air permeability and drainage of the flower soil. Especially drainage, because this plant has fleshy roots, it is particularly intolerant to waterlogging. If the drainage is not good, once there is too much water, root rot is very likely to occur.

2. Specific flower soil selection

In view of the above requirements, we can mainly choose leaf mold. However, this type of soil alone is not enough, garden soil and sandy soil also need to be mixed in. The approximate ratio can be controlled at four to four to two. Of course, in order to provide sufficient nutrients for the plants and to reduce the burden of artificial fertilization later, we can add a little base fertilizer to the cultivation soil, so as to ensure the supply of nutrients.

3. Notes

After selecting the soil, it is best not to use it immediately. Put it under strong light for a while, so that harmful bacteria and other microorganisms can be removed.
