Jasmine cutting time and method

Jasmine cutting time and method

Jasmine cutting time

The best time to take jasmine cuttings is in spring and autumn. All conditions in spring and autumn are more suitable. If you take cuttings at this time, the survival rate will be the highest. You can also take cuttings in summer, but it will be more troublesome and the survival rate will not be ideal.

Jasmine cutting method

1. Cut the cuttings

Choose a sturdy annual jasmine, pick a relatively vigorous and pest-free branch from the mother plant and cut it down, about 8 cm in length. Only keep a pair of leaves on the branch, cut off the other leaves, and cut the remaining leaves in half. After processing, place the cuttings in a cool and ventilated place to let them air dry.

2. Configure the matrix

Use loose and breathable soil to cultivate jasmine, preferably sandy soil. If you prepare it yourself, it is recommended to use leaf mold, peat soil and sandy soil mixed as jasmine's soil.

3. Insert the seeds into the soil

Before grafting jasmine, water the soil to keep it moist, then insert the cuttings into it, leaving the two leaves on the surface of the soil, and then place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.

Jasmine cuttings maintenance

After the jasmine cuttings are completed, they need to be placed in a warm, well-ventilated environment. New roots will grow in about a month. After rooting, they can be transplanted and planted. After transplanting, they need to be placed in a ventilated place with diffuse light for maintenance. They can be cultivated normally after about a week.
