The difference between foxtail orchid and nail orchid

1. Different species

Because they are of different species, many of their characteristics are different. Specifically, the first plant belongs to the species Annolanthus and the genus Annolanthus; while the second plant belongs to the tribe Vanda, the genus Gnaphalium and the species Gnaphalium. The first plant also has nicknames, such as "Annorchid", "Drill-beaked Orchid", etc., but the second plant does not.

2. Different appearance

(1) The first difference is in the shape of their leaves. Compared with the first type of plants, the leaves of the second type of plants are thinner and longer, while the leaves of the first type of plants are wider and shorter. This difference can be observed. Then there is the difference in their hardness. The leaves of the former are harder, while the leaves of the latter are softer. This cannot be seen from pictures and can only be felt by touching them in person.

(2) Another difference is the colour of their flowers. For the first plant, the petals of its flowers are white with purple-red spots and the lip is purple-red; while for the second plant, the front part of its flowers is purple, and the back part is white, but with slight purple spots and stripes.

3. Different origins

Here we mainly talk about their respective places of origin. The first type of plant is produced in Hainan Province of my country, while the second type of plant is produced in Yunnan Province of my country. As for their distribution abroad, they are basically the same.
