Are primrose and primrose the same plant?

Are primrose and primrose the same plant?

Different species

This is the most fundamental difference between them. It is precisely because of their different types and genera that they are different in many aspects. For the first plant, it belongs to the Primrose family, genus Primula; while for the second plant, it belongs to the Primulaceae family, genus Primula. The first plant has no nickname, while the second plant is also called "primrose", "annual flower", etc.

Different distribution areas

The first kind of flower originated in Japan, Europe and other places, and was later introduced to my country. It is now widely distributed in various regions of the world, such as the southern part of South America. The second type is produced in Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province and the western part of Guangxi Province in my country, and was introduced to Europe during the Second Industrial Revolution.

Different flower language

The language of flowers is the unique representative meaning of each flower, and these two flowers are no exception. The language of the first type of flowers varies due to different colors. For example, the language of white flowers is "first love" and "youth"; but the language of red flowers is "no regrets" and "unregrettable love". In contrast, the latter's flower language is "I love no one else but you."

Different history and roles

As for the first plant, it is one of the famous traditional flowers in my country. It has a beautiful appearance and rich and diverse colors, so it is very ornamental and is commonly planted in gardens and under rockery. As for the second plant, although it is also very beautiful, its ornamental value is inferior to the first one.
