The reproduction method of golden cherry

The reproduction method of golden cherry

1. Planting

It is said that it is difficult for the seeds of golden cherry to survive after being planted, so not many people use this method to cultivate it.

2. Cutting

Compared with the previous sowing method, this method is used more frequently. Even for large-scale production, many people choose cuttings. Use small young shoots from healthy mother plants without any disease. They must be operated immediately after being cut. If left for too long, the small young shoots will wither and it will be difficult to grow them into plants.

You can insert the cut into wood ash to prevent root rot. When inserted into the soil, adjust the temperature to around 24 degrees Celsius, and keep the nutrient soil moist. As long as the temperature and moisture conditions are stable, this method can be used in every season, but the temperature cannot be too high, otherwise the roots will rot, and if it is too low, the plant growth will become slow. Considering the climate, it is most convenient to operate in spring and autumn.

After cutting, add water to the substrate to make it moist, but not too much water, and then seal it with a film to reduce water loss and also play a certain role in heat preservation. In addition, the film is not breathable after wrapping, so you can take it apart for ventilation at regular intervals. Flower lovers who find it troublesome can poke a few holes for ventilation.

3. Division

The small branches that grow out from the mother root can be taken out and survive separately. Cut off the branch where it is connected to the mother plant and plant it on another substrate, and it will survive independently.

4. Layering

Choose old branches for layering. Observe the branches of the mother plant, bury the branches that grow vigorously for a long time in the soil, and wet the soil with a watering can. After the plant has grown for a period of time, it will take root on its own. Then use a knife to cut it off from the mother plant, and provide it with water and light, and it will survive.

5. Grafting

The advantage of using this method is that the flowering period comes quickly and you can see beautiful flowers in the same year. The grafted branches should be relatively old so that they are easier to survive.
