1. LightingIt is very sensitive to light, so you must pay more attention to this aspect. Too strong light will cause the leaves to grow poorly and turn into light reddish brown. Sometimes, direct light that is too strong can burn the leaves, leaving unsightly scars. However, if there is insufficient light and it is placed in a dark place for a long time, it will grow too loose and not compact. It grows best in semi-shade, so add a layer of shade net from May to September, and remove the shade net from October to April of the following year to give it full sunlight. 2. TemperatureThe temperature between 18-22℃ is most suitable for its growth. It can also tolerate a certain degree of low temperature, but if it is kept in an environment below 5℃ for a long time, the plant will be frozen. The leaves will turn white and it will be difficult to recover. So in winter, we still need to keep warm. 3. WateringIf the soil in the pot is not dry, it is best not to water it. Each time you water it, you must water it thoroughly, but you must also avoid water accumulation, otherwise the roots will rot. However, the soil cannot be allowed to be too dry. Otherwise, although the jade plant will not die, its leaves will become less plump and the color will no longer be bright, and will become dull. In summer, the air will become dry due to the high temperature. At this time, you can spray water around it and the dry air will become moist. When it is growing, you can cut off the upper part of a transparent beverage bottle and then cover the plant. This will provide the jade plant with a relatively humid environment, which is conducive to the growth of full leaves. But remember to take down the plastic bottles in summer. 4. SoilChoose soil that has good drainage, good air permeability, and is loose and fertile. Sandy soil with coarse particles is best. 5. FertilizationApply well-rotted thin liquid fertilizer or low-nitrogen and high-phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer once every month. If the jade plant is newly potted, you don’t need to fertilize it yet. When the temperature is too high in summer or too low in winter, Jade Plant will go into a dormant state and no fertilizer is needed at this time. The best time to apply fertilizer is in the morning or evening on a sunny day. |
