Succulent plant seedling care issues

Succulent plant seedlings with exposed roots

Some varieties of succulents are not covered with soil when they are grown. When these succulents grow roots, they may not be able to enter the soil and their roots will be exposed. Although there is no problem in the early stages of growth, it becomes more difficult for succulents to continue taking root as they grow.

Therefore, when growing succulents, you must pay attention to bury the roots as much as possible in the soil, use tweezers to gently press the roots in, and then cover them with soil.

Succulent plant seedlings

When growing succulents, you may sometimes find that the succulents grow crookedly or have tilted heads. The main problem during this period is that the soil is not covered well during sowing, resulting in a lack of support for the roots, making it impossible for the seedlings to grow upright, resulting in the phenomenon of crooked heads.

When the succulent seedlings are relatively strong, you can add a little river sand to the surface of the soil to help the whole plant grow upright. Straighten the seedlings, then add soil and river sand.

Watering succulent seedlings

The seedlings of succulent plants sometimes become waterlogged. This may be due to high temperatures, strong light, or bacterial infection.

If you find that succulents are waterlogged, you must promptly remove the waterlogged plants and pay attention to disinfection and sterilization. If it is due to light and temperature, you need to promptly place the succulents in a suitable location.

Succulents not sprouting

Many times, people grow succulents and sow them, but they don’t germinate. In fact, this may be because the temperature is not suitable. Generally speaking, it means that the temperature is too high or too low, which causes the seeds to fail to germinate. Be careful to choose the right temperature before sowing.
