Beech tree cultivation methods and precautions

Beech tree cultivation methods and precautions

1. Breeding methods

1. Choose the soil

When growing beech trees, you must choose plains or beaches, because the soil in these places is relatively deep, loose and fertile, and more importantly, has good drainage, which is very suitable for the growth of beech trees.

2. Planting

When planting, the row spacing needs to be determined based on the planting density, and the time is chosen in mid-to-early March each year. When planting, the beech seedling must be placed in the middle of the dug hole, first covered with one-third of soil, lift the beech seedling upwards to allow the roots to be placed freely, and then continue to cover with soil. After planting, you need to water it thoroughly.

Then you need to compact the soil on the sides.

3. Watering

After planting, you must water it thoroughly three times in a row. After that, you can decide whether to water it based on the weather conditions and the dryness of the soil. Generally, when the weather is particularly dry, in addition to watering, you also need to spray water on the crown of the tree. The purpose of this is to lower the temperature while maintaining the humidity of the air.

4. Tree trunk locks water

In order to prevent water evaporation and the beech tree from being sunburned by the scorching sun in summer, you can use straw ropes to wrap it from the roots upwards, all the way to the main trunk and main branches. After that, remember to spray water frequently to keep it moist until the beech seedlings are truly alive, and then you can untie the straw ropes.

5.Stand

In order to prevent the newly planted beech trees from shaking and being blown down by the wind, it is necessary to erect a support to stabilize them and prevent the roots from loosening and affecting their survival.

6. Prune sprouts. After May, many sprouts will grow on the tree trunk, which will consume a lot of nutrients. At this time, the excess sprouts must be removed to increase its survival rate.

two. Precautions

1. Loosening the soil and weeding

This is a very important management measure for beech. Only by weeding can we prevent weeds from competing with beech trees for water and nutrients. It can also improve the permeability of the soil, allowing the roots of beech trees to breathe more smoothly and grow faster.

2. Drought resistance and flood control

Beech trees need a humid environment to grow, but you must still pay attention to watering them in time when the climate is continuously dry to prevent them from dying. During consecutive rainy days, you must also pay attention to digging ditches and draining water in time to prevent it from being flooded.

3. Fertilization

Accelerated-release fertilizers need to be applied during the seedling stage of beech trees, but nitrogen oxide fertilizers need to be applied during the Mid-Autumn Festival during the growth period. However, some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers need to be added in the later stages.
