Can Jiyulu be grown through leaf cuttings?

Can Jiyulu be grown through leaf cuttings?

1. Is it feasible and how to operate it

First of all, the editor tells you that although leaf cuttings are not the preferred propagation method for Echeveria, it is also feasible. The specific operation method is: choose leaves that are strong and fleshy, and break them off directly with your hands, breaking them along the base of the leaves. Make sure the leaves are intact, otherwise they cannot be used. Choose a well-drained base soil such as vermiculite or coarse sand as the soil, insert the leaves into it, and be sure to keep it moist, but not too much water, otherwise the leaves will rot. Generally speaking, fleshy leaves are very easy to root. After small buds grow and they grow a little bigger, they can be transplanted into a larger pot for cultivation.

2. Maintenance after leaf cutting

Secondly, the editor must also tell you about the maintenance issues after leaf cuttings, otherwise the survival rate of leaf cuttings is difficult to guarantee!

1. Temperature

The Ji Yu Lu should be placed in a well-ventilated and dry place for maintenance, and the temperature should be controlled between 8 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius to ensure normal growth. If the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, you will be frozen.

2. Lighting

The plant is sensitive to light and must not be exposed to strong light, otherwise the leaves will be burned and germination will be affected. In the hot summer, you can cover it with a thin layer of fine mesh, which you can remove after October to give it full sunlight.

3. Soil

Be sure to ensure that the soil is fertile and has good air permeability. You can add some peat soil to the soil in an appropriate amount, so that the organic content in the soil will be rich, which is conducive to its growth.

4. Watering

When watering the Ji Yu Lu plant, you must be careful not to allow water to accumulate or rain to fall, otherwise the roots will rot. But the drought cannot last for a long time, otherwise it will die from lack of water. When the air is particularly dry, you can spray water into the surrounding air to increase the humidity.

5. Fertilization

No fertilizer is needed in the early stage of cuttings, but when the growth is particularly fast, fertilizer is needed once a month to provide sufficient nutrients for its growth. There is no need to apply fertilizer during high temperatures in summer or low temperatures in winter, otherwise it will affect normal growth.

Through the above content, everyone should know that Ji Yulu can be propagated by leaf cuttings. As long as you pay attention to maintenance and management, the survival rate will be very high.
