Common species of mountain laurel

Common species of mountain laurel

1. White Mountain Laurel

The flowers are white or nearly white. The mountain laurel blooms in early summer. The white or nearly white, half-opened umbrella-shaped flowers hang in bunches on branches set off by large oval leaves. The gorgeous and holy white color is like a bride in a white wedding dress at a wedding, implicitly interpreting the beauty of the mountain laurel.

2. Red Mountain Laurel

The flowers are deep aqua red. During the flowering period of mountain laurel, in early summer, the deep red half-opened umbrella-shaped flowers hang in bunches on branches set off by large dark green leaves, echoing and embellishing the green leaves, generously and refreshingly showing the beauty of mountain laurel to the world.

3. Purple Mountain Laurel

The inner edge of the corolla is a wide purple-brown band. The flowering period is relatively late. The edges of the petals are purple-brown ribbons, and the petals are white as a whole and half-open umbrella-shaped flowers. Unlike the pure color mountain laurel, they hang in bunches on branches set off by large leaves, showing the unique beauty of mountain laurel.

4. Narrow-petaled mountain laurel

The petals are divided into five narrow petals, which look like feathers in the inflorescence. The flowering period is early, and each flower is composed of five long and narrow petals, making the flower look like chicken feet as a whole, which is significantly different from the appearance of other mountain laurels. When all the flowers are in full bloom, dense small flowers hang on the branches, and from a distance they look like small balls of fluff, showing another kind of beauty.

5. Small-leaf mountain laurel

Small shrub with small, dark green leaves. Unlike other varieties of mountain laurel with large oval leaves, the small-leaved mountain laurel is famous for its small leaves. The dark green leaves are narrow, with each leaf about the length of an adult's little finger, which further highlights the majestic beauty of the mountain laurel flowers.

6. Blunt-leaved mountain laurel

The leaves are oval, obtuse at the tip, and 5-7 cm long. Unlike the small-leaf mountain laurel, the blunt-leaf mountain laurel also has oval leaves without sharp edges at the tip. Each leaf is about the length of an adult palm and grows alternately from left to right. The top of the stem is topped with bunches of round, umbel-shaped flowers of various colors, which set off each other and make it more charming.
