How to grow passion fruit in autumn

How to grow passion fruit in autumn

1. Sufficient water

Because passion fruit itself is a shallow-rooted plant and prefers moisture. It is afraid of drought, but at the same time it is afraid of water. If the moisture is not appropriate, the fruit yield will be greatly affected. Therefore, it is necessary to water it in time in autumn, but there should be no stagnant water. If you are managing in the field, you need to build some drainage ditches to help drain water to avoid waterlogging due to heavy rain in early autumn.

2. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

Fertilizer is also important in autumn. Using the right amount of fertilizer can promote flowering and fruiting. Generally speaking, regular fertilization in autumn is dilute urea or human feces and urine once a month, and the concentration should not be too high. From August to September, you should also use flower-promoting fertilizer. From October to November, it is the period of fruit expansion, so it is necessary to use a compound fertilizer containing nitrogen and potassium elements. Don't use too much nitrogen fertilizer alone, otherwise it will easily lead to excessive growth.

3. Intertillage and Shallow Hoeing

If there is a lot of rain at the beginning of autumn, be sure to till the soil and hoe shallowly in time after the rain, with a depth of about five to ten centimeters. You can also weed and combine it with tillage. Doing so can improve the permeability of the soil and is beneficial to the growth of the plants.

4. Proper pruning

Regular pruning can be carried out in autumn, and diseased and insect-infested, as well as dry branches can be cut off.
