Cultivation methods and precautions of black feather jade

Cultivation methods and precautions of black feather jade

1. Environment

The plant of Jade has very large taproots, so it is recommended that you use a deeper flowerpot when planting it in a pot. Moreover, it itself likes a growing environment that is both warm and dry with plenty of sunshine. Like other plants, it is afraid of waterlogging, resistant to drought and semi-shade, and also requires a large temperature difference between day and night. Secondly, the growing period of the black feather jade plant is in spring and autumn, and its roots are very afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, you need to pay special attention when watering. In addition to keeping the soil moist during the growing period, you should also control its watering at other times. When watering, you must grasp the important principle of "don't water when it is not dry, and water thoroughly if you water". Be sure to avoid waterlogging in the potting soil, otherwise it will cause serious root rot.

2. Temperature management

In winter, I suggest that you place it in a growing environment with plenty of sunlight indoors. Try to keep the minimum temperature at night at around 10℃. Note that there must be a temperature difference between day and night. At this time, you can water it normally to allow the plant to continue growing. If you cannot maintain 10℃, you need to control watering to put it into a dormant state. It can safely overwinter at temperatures above 5℃.

3. Reproduction method

After its seeds are mature, you can pick and sow them at the same time. This step is generally carried out between April and May. Please note that the potting soil must be plain sandy soil that has been sterilized by steam, which is most suitable. At the same time, after soaking the potting soil with the pot immersion method, sow the seeds very evenly on the surface of the soil. Since the seeds are very small, there is no need to cover them with soil. You just need to cover the sowing pot with a piece of glass to maintain its humidity, and then cover it with a piece of white paper to prevent direct sunlight from shining on the plants. Everyone should remember the temperature difference between day and night. On weekdays, it should be controlled between 15 and 25℃, and it will germinate in about 10 days.
