The difference between Sedum sedum and Sedum notoginseng

Overall distinction

The first difference is in appearance. Sedum notoginseng has 1 to 3 stems and is not branched. The leaves are elliptic-lanceolate or ovate-somewhat oblanceolate. The leaves are firm and leathery to the touch, ranging from 3.5 to 8 cm in length and 1.2 to 2 cm in width.

Leaf distinction

The leaves of Sedum multiflorum are arranged in whorls or opposites, are obovate in shape, feel fleshy and have wavy teeth. The leaves are between 8 and 10 centimeters long and 2 to 3.5 centimeters wide. So in comparison, the leaves of Sedum multiflorum look bigger and rounder, and the plant is also sturdier than that of Sedum notoginseng. The leaves of Panax notoginseng Sedum are relatively small and long.

Flower type distinction

The flowers of Sedum arvense and Sedum notoginseng are very similar, but there are also differences. First of all, the flowers of Sedum notoginseng generally have five petals, are yellow in color, and the inflorescence is cyme-shaped with many branches that spread out flat. The style is long and diamond-shaped. The flowering period is in June and July.

Color distinction

The flowers of Sedum multiflorum come in many colors, including purple, white, rose-red or light pink. The inflorescence is umbel-shaped and spreads out like a flat head. It usually blooms from July to October and has a relatively long flowering period.
