How to fertilize marigolds

How to grow marigolds

Marigolds are usually sown in spring, with 3 seedlings placed in each pot and organic fertilizer sprinkled in the pot as base fertilizer. Be sure to ensure sufficient watering during the growth period, and place it in a sunny place after about 7 days. Apply liquid organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer once every half a month during the growing season. No further fertilization is required until the flowering period. Just ensure that the soil is moist and breathable.

How to fertilize marigold

Seedling stage

When applying fertilizer, attention should be paid to the ratio of organic fertilizer and inorganic compound fertilizer. Do not apply only one type of fertilizer. Uneven application can easily lead to fertilizer deficiency in the middle and late stages. Combine organic and inorganic fertilizers, increase the total amount of phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen fertilizers, but pay attention to the application of nitrogen fertilizers in batches. The base fertilizer during the seedling stage should be applied deeply. Choose soil with good drainage and ventilation, and a deep and loose soil layer. No fertilizer is needed afterwards. During the growing season, fertilizer is applied in small amounts and more frequently to meet growth needs.

Blooming period

Additional fertilizer can be applied during the blooming period of marigold flowers, and the best time for spraying is around 7 pm. For large-scale planting of marigolds, the soil layer should be harrowed about 20 cm to make the surface soil not only fine but also soft and sticky, keep the field surface flat, apply a certain amount of organic fertilizer per mu, and cover and harrow the fertilizer as base fertilizer.

The above are the main methods of fertilizing marigolds when planting them in pots and on a large scale. Now that you have learned how much, try it out now.
