The consequences of using concentrated fertilizers for growing flowersIf the concentration of liquid fertilizer is too high, it will often cause the branches and leaves of flowers to turn yellow, and in severe cases it will lead to the death of the flowers. Therefore, you should be extra careful when applying concentrated fertilizers to flowers. Under normal circumstances, the concentration of the cell sap in plant root hairs is greater than that of the soil solution. Because of the different osmotic pressures of the two, the soil solution continuously penetrates into the plant root hairs, so the root hairs can absorb water and nutrients from the soil solution. However, once concentrated fertilizers are applied, the concentration in the soil solution will be greater than that of the plant root hair cells. At this time, reverse osmosis will occur, and the cell sap will penetrate into the soil solution, causing the water in the cells to be lost, resulting in plasmolysis and the plant withering and dying. A similar phenomenon occurs when using fermented liquid fertilizer. The correct way to apply concentrated fertilizer to flowersFirst of all, the concentration of chemical fertilizers applied to potted flowers should not be too high, and should be controlled at around 0.1%. When applying fermented liquid fertilizer, it is more reasonable to dilute the concentration 10-15 times before use. |
