A collection of flower arrangement techniques (Part 3)

Blade drawing method

This method is suitable for plant leaves with parallel veins, such as bamboo leaves. The leaves can be torn longitudinally. If the tears are not completely through, a few more threads can be pulled along the veins to produce spindle-shaped curved leaves.

Leaf flap method

If the leaf is in the shape of a long sword, when using this method you should first cut a longitudinal slit in the middle of the leaf, bend the front of the leaf, insert it from the slit and then pull out the leaf, so that the shape of the flapped wings will appear.

Branch knotting method

You can choose flowers with soft branches such as weeping willows and forsythia, or plants with slender leaves such as yucca and bookendia, and tie them into knots, determining the tightness of the knot according to the shape of the flower arrangement.

Branch bending method

This is to express the need of nature, and the complete branches are appropriately "destroyed". For example, bending the calamus leaves in the basin can express the scenery of the river and pond.

Branch inverted insertion method

Some woody branches will not shrink even when they dry, so you can insert the branches upside down in a vase to achieve certain artistic effects.

Group bundling

Some wild flowers are very small, and it is better to view them together. When arranging flowers, you can hold the flowers into a ball and tie them with a rope, then put them in the vase after you are done.
