Cultivated varieties

Highbush Blueberry

Highbush blueberries can be divided into two categories: southern highbush blueberries and northern highbush blueberries. The former prefers a moist and warm growing environment and is suitable for cultivation in central and southern my country, while northern highbush blueberries prefer cool weather and have strong cold resistance, making them suitable for development in northern regions. The fruits of this variety are large, of good quality, and taste great when eaten fresh. It can be cultivated as a sales variety in the fresh fruit market, cultivated for processing, or cultivated for personal use in the garden.

Half-highbush blueberry

It is a hybrid of highbush blueberry and lowbush blueberry. The tree is relatively short, about 50-100 cm in height, with large fruits of excellent quality and strong cold resistance, usually able to withstand temperatures as low as -35°C, making it suitable for cultivation in cold northern regions. The main excellent varieties include Hokuriku, Kita-lan, Kitamura, etc.

Lowbush Blueberry

The tree of dwarf blueberry is short, only about 30-50 cm in height. It has strong cold resistance and can be cultivated in low temperature areas of -40℃. At the same time, the cultivation and management techniques of dwarf blueberry are relatively simple, making it very suitable for large-scale commercial cultivation in the high-altitude mountainous areas of Northeast China. The main high-quality varieties include Meiden, Fenty, etc.

Rabbiteye Blueberry

Baldwin

American variety, late maturing, and highly disease resistant. The plant grows strong and upright, has a large crown and is capable of producing continuous high yields. The fruit ripening period can last for 6-7 weeks. The fruit is large and hard, dark blue in color, with a dry and small stem mark and a good taste.
