In May, you need to know these things, don't let your succulents die in the summer

Succulents are divided into "winter type" and "summer type"

"Winter type" succulents are dormant in the summer and grow in winter, spring and autumn. In summer, their growth will stop and they are not resistant to high temperatures. When caring for the plant, pay attention to shading, stop fertilizing and keep it ventilated. Reduce watering. If necessary, you can use spray water to increase humidity, but be careful not to spray water during the hot noon. It is best to do it in the evening.

"Summer type" succulents refer to those that do not hibernate in summer and grow vigorously. These succulents can be taken indoors in time during the summer. Sufficient sunlight will make their color better and stronger.

"Summer type" succulents are more heat-resistant, but the temperature cannot be too high. Generally, they will stop growing in an environment of 35℃, so pay attention to temperature control. When applying fertilizer, you need to apply it appropriately according to different varieties. Apply more fertilizer to fast-growing plants, less fertilizer to slow-growing plants, or even no fertilizer at all.

Common varieties of "winter type" and "summer type" succulents

The common "summer type" succulents include: Peach Beauty, Star Beauty, White Peony, Flower Hairpin, Ruo Green, Magic Sword, Flower Moon, Fire Festival, Blue Lock Dragon, Sunset Goose, Love Vine, Green Rain, Fuji, Zi Chi Nian Hua, Snow Lotus, Black Prince, etc.

Common "winter type" succulents include: Alocasia odora, Jade Curtain, Maiden Heart, Hachiyo, Rainbow Jade, Bear's Paw, Misty Moon, Black Master, Jade Dew, Kangpingshou, Jincheng, Dragon Scale, Jade Fan, Vientiane, Lithops, etc.

Are the succulents in your home "winter type" or "summer type"? If you don’t know yet, hurry up and do your homework, so that you can better grow succulents in the summer!
