How to grow jasmine

How to grow jasmine

1. Maintain the environment

(1) Soil: It should be loose and fertile. Because of the fear of waterlogging, drainage must also be good. In addition, according to the characteristics of the plant that it grows well in acidic soil and poorly in alkaline soil, it needs to be given slightly acidic soil.

(2) Temperature: It prefers warmth, preferably around 15 degrees. It should neither be too high nor too low. Therefore, it needs to be cooled in summer and placed in a warm place in winter. If the temperature can be controlled at around 15 degrees around the Spring Festival, it will bloom.

(3) Light: It should be basically consistent with the temperature, neither too strong nor too weak. Adjust according to specific circumstances, usually requiring scattered light.

(4) Watering: It likes moisture and needs to be supplied with sufficient water. Especially before flowering, water one to three times depending on the dry and wet conditions. After the beginning of autumn, you should gradually reduce the amount of watering to help it safely survive the winter.

(5) Fertilization: When planting, you can add some base fertilizer to the soil, such as animal manure. During the growing period, apply decomposed liquid fertilizer once or twice a month. During the stage of flower bud differentiation, some fertilizer containing phosphorus needs to be applied. Before flowering, you can also use liquid fertilizer once to extend the flowering period. However, no matter at what stage the fertilizer is applied, it should not be too concentrated.

2. Pruning

Forsythia has a particularly strong ability to germinate, so it is best to prune it frequently. In addition to pinching during the growing period, you can also cut off dense and messy branches to maintain the shape of the tree. After flowering, the branches should also be cut back.
