Growth habits of the succulent plant Rhizoma Coptidis

The succulent plant Lipstick belongs to the genus Lipstick of the Aizoaceae family. It is native to the desert gravel areas of arid regions in southern Africa and southwestern Africa. It is also known as "lipstick". I like a climate with warm winters and cool summers. The optimal growth temperature is between 10~30℃. It is suitable for growing in a warm, dry and sunny environment. Afraid of low temperature and strong light.

Maintenance tips for succulent plants

illumination

Adequate light is required during the autumn growing season. In midsummer, we must provide shade and ventilation to avoid strong sunlight. In winter, it needs to be placed in a sunny place for maintenance.

Watering

Follow the principle of "don't water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do." In winter and summer, it is necessary to reduce water appropriately, which is conducive to shedding.

It needs more water during the growth period, but not too wet, otherwise moss will grow and affect the normal growth of the spherical leaves.

soil

It is suitable to choose loose, fertile, neutral sandy loam with good air permeability and drainage for planting.

Fertilization

Apply decomposed thin liquid fertilizer once every half month, and be careful not to let the fertilizer liquid contaminate the spherical leaves. Stop fertilizing after the little red mouth blooms.

Repotting

It is usually carried out in autumn. Carefully remove the plants, clean the soil at the roots, cut off unnecessary aging and rotten roots, and be careful not to damage the fibrous roots.

How to reproduce the succulent plant Red Mouth

The division method is generally used. Every spring, the little red mouth will grow new fleshy leaves from the gap in the middle, that is, the small mouth, thereby swelling and bursting the old leaves. Afterwards, the old leaves will shrink and die.

The new leaves grow very quickly, and then shrink and crack in the summer. 2 to 3 new young plants will grow in the gaps. At this time, you only need to transplant the young plants.
