How to identify Euphorbia lactea

1. Rhizome

The root of Euphorbia paniculata is cylindrical in shape. It can grow to more than 20 cm, with a diameter of generally 3-6 mm and a brown or dark brown outer skin. The stem is solitary or clustered, 30-60cm in height and about 3-5mm in diameter.

2. Blades

Its leaves are linear to ovate, with relatively pointed or blunt tips, no petioles, and a cuneate to truncate base. The leaf blades are 2-7 cm long and 4-7 mm wide.

3. Flowers

The inflorescence of Euphorbia lactea is solitary at the top of the dichotomous branches, with no stalk at the bottom. The bracts are bell-shaped and about 3mm in height. There are multiple male flowers, and the bracts are broad linear and glabrous.
