Cultivation methods and precautions of Bletilla striata

Cultivation methods and precautions of Bletilla striata

1. Soil

When growing Bletilla striata, try to choose breathable soil, preferably fertile and well-permeable soil. When planting, flower lovers can put broken tiles at the bottom of the pot and add leaf mold to the soil for planting.

2. Lighting

It is very suitable for growing in a place with appropriate shade, especially in summer. Be careful not to expose it to too strong sunlight and move it to a semi-shaded place in advance. In winter, the sun is not very strong, so there is no problem with direct sunlight.

3. Temperature

It prefers a warmer living environment, but is also relatively cold-resistant. If the normal maintenance temperature is around 20℃, it will grow well. Also pay attention to keeping warm in winter, and try not to let the temperature drop below 5℃.

4. Watering

Water it more frequently during its growing season, and also pay attention to watering when the soil in the pot is dry. However, it is a plant that is afraid of waterlogging. While watering it frequently, you should also pay attention to whether there is water accumulation in the pot. Also, during the rainy season, you should pay attention to drainage to prevent root rot.

5. Things to note

It is relatively shade-tolerant and can see sunlight appropriately, but it must not be exposed to strong light. In summer, we should not only pay attention to the light problem, but also pay attention to high temperature prevention. When the temperature is too high in summer, if it is not maintained in a cool place, it is very likely to cause yellow leaves.
