Cultivation methods and precautions of chrysanthemum

How to cultivate chrysanthemum

Pot soil selection

For potted chrysanthemums, you can choose a small flowerpot during the seedling stage, put it in loose, fertile, well-drained sandy soil, and add a little base fertilizer. During the growth of chrysanthemum, the plant continues to grow, the lack of nutrients in the soil, and a small flower pot will also hinder the growth of the roots. You can repot and change the pot every spring.

Water and fertilizer management

Mesembryanthemum is more afraid of waterlogging and is drought-resistant. Therefore, when watering, the amount of water should be moderate to keep the soil in the pot moist. It is better to water less than too much to avoid water accumulation in the soil in the pot. During the growing seasons of spring and autumn, pine needle chrysanthemum can be fertilized with decomposed thin liquid fertilizer once every half a month to ensure sufficient nutrients, promote vigorous plant growth and promote flowering. But be careful not to apply too much fertilizer and water, otherwise the plant will grow too tall and produce less flowers. In summer and winter, because the temperature is too high or too low, you need to stop fertilizing and reduce watering.

Light and temperature

Mesembryanthemum prefers a moderate environment with warmth and plenty of sunshine. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 18℃ and 25℃. It is not cold-resistant and is afraid of high temperatures. Spring and autumn are the growing seasons for chrysanthemum, and the temperature and light are relatively suitable, so it can be exposed to more sunlight. In summer, the sun is strong and the temperature is high, so it needs to be shaded and placed in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance. The temperature is lower in winter, so you can place it in a place with strong sunlight indoors and keep the temperature within a certain range.

Precautions for the cultivation of chrysanthemum

Pests and diseases

During the growth process of Mesembryanthemum, common diseases include leaf spot and rust, as well as pests such as scale insects. Observe the growth of Mesembryanthemum plants frequently, discover diseases and pests, and deal with them in time.

Plastic pruning

In the early growth stage of Mesembryanthemum, you can pinch the top to promote the growth of the plant. After the chrysanthemum blooms, it should be pruned appropriately to maintain the beautiful shape of the plant.

Precautions

During the growth of Mesembryanthemum, it is necessary to pay attention to its summering and wintering to avoid plant death.
