The flower-growing knowledge our ancestors left us!

The flower-growing knowledge our ancestors left us!

1. Why do we need to understand each other? The one who loves flowers the most is the one who cherishes them the most.

2. When growing flowers, you must first grow the leaves, and when growing leaves, you must first grow the roots.

3. The flowers are watered with snow, making them big and beautiful.

4. Don’t water unless the soil is dry, and when you do, make sure to water thoroughly.

5. Fish water is fat, rice water is strong, and tap water left overnight is fine.

6. If you don’t prune roses, there will be few flowers next year.

7. Cut off the stems of the roses, and the flowers will bloom endlessly.

8. Apply fertilizer during the flowering season and burn the buds and petals.

9. Pomegranates facing the sun are as red as fire, while apricots facing away from the sun are sour to the core.

10. Plant hibiscus in autumn and store it in cellars so that it will grow well next year.

11. The shade cannot kill the jasmine orchid, and the sun cannot kill the jasmine.

12. Diligent people raise fish, lazy people raise flowers (we are all lazy people).

13. Women grow flowers, men leave home.

(Russian proverb: It is probably because women take care of the garden at home so well that men have to go out to earn money to maintain the garden at home).

14. You may try to plant flowers but they may not bloom, but you may plant willows by accident and they may grow into a shade (everyone on earth knows this).

15. The plum rain season is continuous, and it is the best time for transplanting.

16. If you plant poinsettia by cuttings in spring, it will mature in the autumn of the same year.

17. Amaryllis will not bloom if planted too deep, and winter coral will not bear fruit if watered too much.

18. Prepare enough soil for repotting in advance, choose a good flower pot and disinfect it well, and make sure the base fertilizer at the bottom is well decomposed.

19. When the Buddha's hand is taken out of the room, the dead branches should be cut off, and a small amount of fertilizer should be applied frequently. Medicines should be used skillfully to prevent the branches from being diseased.

20. If there is no south wall in the house, do not plant hostas and crabapples (because they like shade).

21. The spring breeze brings the peony flowers home, but they never bloom until they grow old (if you mess with them in the spring, you will damage their roots).

22. A mild and humid environment is good for growing camellia flowers.

23. During the sprouting and budding period, the tea pot cannot be moved (just like a woman cannot exercise excessively during childbirth).

24. The room temperature is high and the air is dry, so the camellia buds are easy to fall off. (High temperature means above 15℃.)

25. Cover the camellia with a film in winter to keep it warm (the principle of a plastic greenhouse).

26. The azalea remains dormant above zero and does not grow too tall, with colorful petals and lush branches.

(Above zero: refers to winter temperatures above 0℃).

27. Carefully grow daffodils in water to achieve brighter colors and richer fragrance (early growth period)

Replenish:

1. Amaryllis is better for producing cubs when planted deeply, and better for flowering when planted shallowly: This means that planting shallowly is better for flowering, while planting deeper is better for producing cubs.

2. Planting peonies in spring will prevent them from blooming until they grow old: This means that not all flowers and plants are suitable for planting in spring. Peonies have well-developed root systems. If they are transplanted in this season, the roots will inevitably be damaged, resulting in insufficient nutrient absorption, and the phenomenon of "not blooming until they grow old" is very likely to occur.
