Varieties of Prunus armeniaca

Prunus mume

It blooms pink or pink-white flowers with single petals. The flowers are relatively small, with 5 sepals and petals each, similar to wild elmleaf plum, and the twigs are reddish-brown.

Prunus mume

The flowers are reddish brown, relatively large in shape, double-petaled, numerous and densely packed, with more than 10 sepals, and both the sepals and pedicels have a red blush.

The bark of the branches of the double-petaled plum is mostly cracked. Because its flowers are relatively large, it is also called "big-flowered plum". It is a variety with relatively high ornamental value, but it blooms later than other varieties.

Prunus semi-double

The flowers are pink, semi-double, with more than 10 petals and 10 petals each.

The twigs of the plant are reddish-brown and are widely cultivated in gardens and courtyards.

Prunus elmi

The flowers are relatively small in shape, densely growing on the branches, with rose purple color, semi-double or double petals. There are 10 petals in the flower bud, 5 of which are triangular and 5 are lanceolate.

The twigs of the plant are purple-red and smooth. It blooms earlier than other varieties, with a flowering period of about 10 days.

Prunus truncatula

Shrubs, rarely small trees, about 2-5 meters in height, with cracked bark, purple-brown or brown, glabrous or with fine hairs when young.

The leaves are broadly elliptic or obovate, 3-6 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, acuminate at the apex, and usually 3-lobed.

The flowers are pink. The characteristic of the truncate-leaf plum is that the front end of the leaves is broad and truncated, nearly triangular, and it has strong cold resistance. It is widely cultivated in Northeast my country.

Purple-leaved, large-flowered, double-petaled Prunus armeniaca

It is a new variety of Prunus mume bred in my country. It has bright purple-red leaves and double flowers, most of which are pink. It is the latest variety of large-flowered and double-petaled Prunus mume.
